Summer student HCI research experience in Germany
http://hciunh.org/unh-ires/

The Human Computer Interaction labs at the University of New Hampshire and the University of Stuttgart are co-organizing a summer HCI student research experience. We are now inviting applications for the summer of 2016. We expect that 3 undergraduate and 3 graduate students will conduct research for about 9 weeks at the Human Computer Interaction (HCI) Lab of Professor Albrecht Schmidt at the University of Stuttgart (http://www.hcilab.org). The program is funded by the NSF through its International Research Experiences for Students (IRES) program.

Student research within the UNH IRES program will focus on developing and testing tools for estimating cognitive load in HCI, and particularly in the domain of visual computing. Specific topics will be related to the work of the Collaborative Research Center on Visual Computing. This highly prestigious center is funded by DFG, which is Germany’s largest independent research funding organization.

Successful applicants will receive full financial support for participation, covering items such as airfare, room and board, health insurance, as well as a $500/week stipend. The total value of the financial package is approximately $8,500 for 9 weeks.

Details about the program, including applications instructions, are available at http://hciunh.org/unh-ires/. Please note that this program is only available to US citizens and permanent residents.

To apply, or if you have questions, send email to Andrew Kun at the following email address dedicated to UNH IRES inquiries and applications: [log in to unmask]
