FINAL DEADLINE
CALL FOR PAPERS - CALL FOR DEMOS
INTETAIN 2016
8th International Conference on Intelligent Technologies for Interactive Entertainment
June 28-30, 2016 - Utrecht, The Netherlands
http://www.intetain.org/2016

Scope
Intelligent technologies have shaped and will continue to shape the way we experience entertainment. Novel devices and novel interaction paradigms present opportunities for richer interactions. At the same time, the adoption of such technology by humans presents interesting challenges. The development of interactive entertainment applications therefore requires thorough knowledge from multiple research domains (computer graphics, human factors, signal processing, artificial intelligence, etc.). When successfully combined, novel interaction paradigms can impact the entertainment industry.

The 8th International Conference on Intelligent Technologies for Interactive Entertainment (INTETAIN 2016) will address issues concerning relationships between human-computer interaction and entertainment. The objective of the conference is to attract state-of-art contributions that address the broad challenges faced in the development and use of interactive technologies to create entertainment content. The goal is to explore and discuss innovative studies, technologies and applications aimed at new interface paradigms.

Keynote speakers
The conference will feature keynote talks by prof. Elisabeth André (Augsburg University) and Dr. Mark Riedl (Georgia Tech). We will also have a more interactive talk by JobJorisenMarieke, the Oscar-nominated creators of animated shorts.

Conference topics
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Game and interface design: tools & theories
- Game characters: virtual, tele-presence & storytelling
- Games-in-X: education, transport & public spaces
- Gamification: principles and serious games
- Human factors: emotion, immersion, skill & style
- Human-X interaction: media, music, robot & animal
- Intelligent environments: ambient, virtual & mixed reality
- Interactive media: TV, social media, art & storytelling
- Invasion of entertainment: mobile, guides & companions
- Novel interfaces: affective, multimodal, bodily interaction
- Novel sensors: techniques & case studies
- Enabling technologies: agent technology & machine learning

Submission - papers
The conference solicits original, high-quality papers discussing research including case studies and overview papers. Acceptance will be based on the quality, originality and significance of the contribution. Accepted papers will appear in the proceedings of the conference, published by Springer. We support two types of papers: (1) full papers (max. 10 pages, excluding references) and short papers (max. 5 pages, excluding references). Submission guidelines appear on the website.

Submission - demos
We invite demos of novel interactive technology for entertainment. A demo paper should be between 1 and 5 pages (excluding references). The paper should describe the demo, its setup and possibly the design process or experimental studies. Demo papers will be reviewed by the program committee. Accepted papers will be published in the Springer proceedings of the conference. All proposals should be submitted via the conference management system (http://www.intetain.org/2016/show/initial-submission). A papers/demo submission requires that you register for the conference.
