*************** CALL FOR ABSTRACTS/PAPERS ***************

Symposium on Smart Systems for Urban Water Management:
Modelling, Simulation, Analytics and ICT for Behavioural Change

August 21-25, 2016, Monte Verità, Switzerland

http://www2.idsia.ch/cms/smartwater/

*************** CALL FOR ABSTRACTS/PAPERS ***************

The Symposium and associated Summer School will focus on managing
household water demand using ICT and smart economics: from monitoring
consumption with innovative smart meters, to profiling users’ behaviour, to
understanding how different stimuli can nudge behavioural change, how to
design effective behavioural change applications and how integrated ICT
solutions can be adopted by water utilities.

The application of ICT includes behavioural change models, tools, services,
and mobile apps for behaviour change, social applications for sharing water
consumption data and saving tips, visual analytics dashboards for monitoring
consumption and managing water demand, simulation tools, games, etc.

Abstracts or a papers (8/12 pages) can be submitted for presentation as talks or
posters. Accepted technical papers will be published in the online conference
proceedings. A special issue on Smart Urban Water Systems will also be
proposed to the journal Environmental Modelling and Software (IF 4.320, SNIP
2.374), where we plan to collect the most interesting contributions.
For contributions focusing on ICT for behavioural change a special issue on
Smart Applications for Behavioural Change will also be proposed to the i-com -
Journal of Interactive Media (in cooperation with IFIP WG 13-10 Human-Centred
Technology for Sustainability). Full papers associated to abstracts can also be
prepared and brought for discussion directly to the symposium to be considered
for one of the two special issues.
