A PhD studentship is available in HCI, Health and Wellbeing in the College
of Science and Engineering at the University of Leicester, UK.

Deadline for application: *Monday 10th April 2017, 12pm (GMT)*

We are looking for an enthusiastic PhD student interested to work in the
following collaborative project:

- Enhancing Self-management of Asthma through Ubiquitous Technology

Applicants should have a good Masters level degree in a relevant field or a
very good first degree (equivalent to a First Class or Upper Second Class
Bachelor of Science Degree) and research interests in one of the following
areas: computer-supported cooperative work, human-computer interaction,
user experience design, ubiquitous computing and/or science and technology
studies. Prior experience with mHealth, wearables, machine learning and/or
conducting ethnographic studies is a ++

The postgraduate student will collaborate with researchers from the
Leicester Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) as well as clinicians and
patients from the Severe and Difficult Asthma Service Unit at the Glenfield
Hospital in Leicester. The student will be part of a thriving
multidisciplinary academic community at the BRC, including academic
clinicians, biomedical scientists, computer scientists and statisticians as
well as researchers from the Department of Informatics and the Health and
Social Science Departments.

The student will work under the supervision of Dr. Nervo Verdezoto from the
Department of Informatics and Dr. Sherif Gonem and Dr. Robert Free from the
Leicester Institute of Lung Health.

The studentship is fully funded for three years and is expected to start
around 25th September 2017.
