BEN: I suggest that YOU submit a panel proposal to STC'99 about "Ada
After the Mandate" or whatever you want to call it, covering the topics
that that means to you. I did mine on SEPR's etc. at STC'98, and it's
your turn for the limelight there. The exposure of being on the actual
program would be better than having another BOF, not to preclude us
having a repeat BOF about ongoing Ada issues anyway.

ALL: As you may recall, there was more or less a "purge" of Ada from
the program at STC'98. Every submission with "Ada" in the title was
either rejected or asked to change the title (including my SEPR panel
which was originally title something like "...After the Mandate"). I
would love to retest this stance by having 300 submissions with Ada in
the title or strongly about Ada submitted to STC'99. I had some
interaction with STC keys about this last year and extracted some
"promise" that they would be more "reasonable" this year, but I'll
believe it when I see it. Everyone rewarm your good papers and submit
them to STC'99. You've got 2 weeks.

The STC'99 submission due date is Sep. 18. For info, see and and
. The latter links to an online PDF version of the Call for Speakers if
you didn't receive it in the past month. I looked quickly for online
submission procedures like last year, but didn't see a button for that,
so maybe they went back to the old-fashioned submission methods? (Maybe
the mailed CFP gave the url to do this, but I left mine at home today so
I can't check right this minute.)

Go get 'em. --HH
