SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES
The introduction of Web 2.0 technologies, pervasive and ubiquitous systems and networks, and highly distributed computing systems, and the availability of huge amounts of data have been changing the field of computer supported collaboration, particularly with the emergence of new capabilities and forms of collaboration, as well as new challenges and issues.

The organizers of the International Conference on Collaboration Technologies and Systems (CTS) are pleased to announce a special journal issue that will be published in Wiley’s Concurrency and Computation: Practice & Experience (CCPE) Journal (http://www.cc-pe.net/journalinfo/). This special issue seeks contributions from academia, industry and governmental research labs on a broad spectrum of methodologies and technologies, including ethnographically-based or field-based experiences, that relate to cooperation, coordination, communication, and collaboration at both the client and backend (cloud) levels. PAPER SUBMISSIONS
Interested authors should send a one- to two-page abstract with title, authors, affiliations, emails and contact information, and a statement of their intent to submit a new manuscript or an extended version of their CTS paper to this special issue by the due date. In case of an extended version, please indicate clearly where the original work was published or presented. The abstract should be sent as an email attachment to the Special Issue Guest Editors by February 2, 2016 (extended deadline). We do require the submission of author biographies and photographs. Guest Editors replies to authors will be sent by February 5, 2016 (extended deadline). Only manuscripts of approved abstracts will be considered.

The submitted papers must be original and must not be under consideration in any other venue. This Special Issue is open to all potential contributors on the topics listed above. We additionally invite contributors of the 2014/2015 International Conference on Collaboration Technologies and Systems to submit an extended version of their work. Papers should be submitted via Manuscript Central at https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/cpe as “TA_CTS” with a cover letter including also the statement “This manuscript is submitted for the special issue on Trends and Advances in Collaboration Technologies and Systems”. For extended papers, this must also be explicitly indicated in the cover letter, with a clear description of the new, unpublished material included (at least by 50%) that adds new insight and significant content well beyond that in original papers or any other previously published work. See Plagiarism Check section on http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/10.1002/(ISSN)1532-0634/homepage/ForAuthors.html. Manuscripts should not exceed 20 pages in length (12 point single space, inclusive of figures and tables) and must be prepared for publication according to the journal’s template. A guide for authors, templates and samples for submitting papers is available at the journal’s Submission Guidelines. The number of pages of the submitted paper should be related to the content of the paper: superfluous material is to be avoided. Please submit in Latex or Word. A LaTex template is available for LaTex users.

Submitted papers will receive thorough reviews and evaluation. Papers will be selected based on their originality, contributions, technical clarity and presentation, language, significance to the readership of the Journal, relevance to the special issue, and quality and significance of research hypothesis, assertions, and conclusions.
