Design, Specification and Verification of Interactive Systems: DSV-IS 2006
XIII International Workshop
July 26-28, 2006, Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland.
In Co-operation with ACM SIGCHI, Eurographics, the BCS HCI group and
IFIP WG 13.5
DETAILS: http://www.dsvis2006.org/ - Registration now open. Early
registration closes 26th June.
Interactive systems, the human computer interface and support for
collaboration, have always presented significant challenges for
designers and developers. Developments in ubiquitous and mobile
computing have brought further challenges to interface design. DSV-IS
provides a forum where researchers working on model based techniques and
tools for the design and development of interactive systems can come
together with practitioners and with those working on HCI models and
theories.
The XIIIth International Workshop on the Design, Verification and
Specification of Interactive Systems provides a venue for researchers
and practitioners to present their latest results and developments.
Papers will be presented and discussed on Safety Critical Systems, Model
Based Development, Cognitive Aspects of Interaction, Haptics and
Multimodality, Prototyping and Evaluation and Supporting User Interface
Development.
Keynote talks:
"Construction by Configuration: Challenges for Software Engineering
Research"
Ian Sommerville - author of several books, including the well known
software engineering textbook, is professor of software engineering in
the School of Computer Science at St Andrews University, Scotland,
having previously been a Professor at the University of Lancaster. His
research interests are in socio-technical systems, dependability,
requirements engineering and service-centric computing.
"How do developers meet users? - Attitudes and processes in software
development."
Jan Gulliksen is a professor in Human Computer Interaction at Uppsala
university. He conducts research on usability and user-centred systems
design in practice, in cooperation with a number of companies and public
authorities. Jan has authored a number of papers on the integration of
HCI and software engineering and is also an editor of the book
Human-centred software engineering, published last year. Jan is the
chairman of IFIP 13.2 - Methodologies for user-centred systems design
and is also an active participant in ISO standardization efforts on
software ergonomics and Human-Computer dialogues.
