===============================================================

Deadline: 29 January 2017

Delft University of Technology and Amsterdam Institute of Advanced Metropolitan Solutions (http://www.ams-amsterdam.com) are looking for a Post-Doctoral researcher to work on data-enabled design methods for the Urban Internet of Things. This post is part of the "Experimental City" project which explores how lean, data-enabled methods can be applied to develop Internet of Things applications and services in an urban context.

This post is suitable for a researcher with a design, human-computer-interaction, software or data analytics backgrond. The succesful candidate will conduct empirical and experimental work in collaboration with companies, citizen groups and city authorities to investigate the role of urban data in informing and validating design hypotheses about smart city services (with a focus on Amsterdam's Smart City Initiative https://amsterdamsmartcity.com)

The successful candidates must have obtained a recent Ph.D. in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design or a related discipline and ideally have knowledge of Internet of Things data and platforms, and experience in working in a smart city context with community groups or industry. Start dates for the position are immediate, contract duration is one year. Place of work is Delft and Amsterdam.

The position is associated with the Internet of Things group and the Connected Everyday Lab (http://studiolab.ide.tudelft.nl/connectedeverydaylab/project/) at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at Delft University of Technology.

Potential applicants are encouraged to email Prof Gerd Kortuem, Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, TU Delft ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) for inquiries.

To apply, please send a detailed CV and a research statement indicating the applicant's long-term research goals (1-2 pages) by 29 January 2017 to Sara Bedin, [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>. When applying for this position, please refer to vacancy number ATIO-0734.
