Dear List,

 

A PhD position in multimodal interaction is available. Particularly the
interest and the experience in the statistical  modelling, the perception
based signal processing or the machine learning are welcome. We offer the
possibility to work at a young research group in the fields of acoustics and
haptics.

 

A detailed description of the position :

 

The Chair of Acoustics and Haptics of Technische Universitaet Dresden offers
a position as 

 

Research Fellow 

 

(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to
salary group E 13 TV-L) 

 

The position starts immediately, entails 50 % of the fulltime weekly hours
and is initially limited to 30 months. The period of employment is governed
by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz -
WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic
qualification (e.g. PhD). 

 

Tasks: Research activities in the fields of multimodal interaction,
psychoacoustics, haptics, signal processing: analysis and carry out
perceptual experiments; modelling of the multimodal interaction and of
artificial neural network; perception based signal processing; project
handling in the fields of vehicle acoustics and household appliance
acoustics. 

 

Requirements: university degree in any of engineering fields, psychology,
hearing technology and audiology or physics; programming knowledge in
Matlab; good English skills; high motivation and autonomous working style;
an integrative and cooperative personality for the interdisciplinary
cooperation. Experience in machine learning, signal processing and
statistics would be an advantage.
