Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI) of Thomson Reuters, DBLP, and Google
Scholar databases.
Authors of the best rated and presented papers will be invited for
publishing in special issues of international journals.

Dear Colleague,
Modern optical networks allow flexible transfer of huge data streams
over very long distance. Software defined networking offers also
flexible modulation schemes to increase distances and achieve high
spectral efficiency. The networks additionally allow transfer of new
demanding type of services – photonic services, providing very high
optical signal fidelity including the preservation of precise timing.
Such services include for example distributed sensing, precise time or
stable frequency transmission. This new use of photonics networks, with
no interference with the commodity traffic, is a rapidly growing area of
research and development. Within the framework of the 2018 41st
International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing
(TSP) held during July 4-6, 2018 in Athens, Greece, we invite you to
present and discuss advances in the research and development of flexible
photonic transmission systems and their services. Topics of interest
include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Flexible all optical networks
- High speed data transmission
- Software defined optical networks (SDON)
- Optical spectrum sharing
- Precise time / stable frequency transmission
- Quantum key distribution (QKD)
- Line codes and modulation formats
- Optical networks security
- Quality of Services (QoS)

In cooperation with IEEE Czechoslovakia Section SP/CAS/COM Joint
Chapter, to recognize outstanding technical contributions by students,
as evidenced by the quality of papers, their presentations, and their
technical excellence, the authors of the Best 3 Student Papers will be
awarded during the conference by the Technical Committee. The Best
Student Paper Award consists in a Certificate of Appreciation Plaque and
an IEEE Student or IEEE Graduate Student membership for 2019.
