The ICAT-EGVE 2017 conference will be held November 22nd - 24th in
Adelaide, Australia. This is the merger of the 27th International
Conference on Artificial Reality and Telexistence (ICAT 2017) and the 22nd
Eurographics Symposium on Virtual Environments (EGVE 2017).

Together these are two of the oldest international conferences in the world
on Artificial Reality and Virtual Environments, and provide a unique
opportunity for researchers, developers, and users to share their
experience and knowledge of Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality,
Mixed Reality and 3D User Interfaces. This is a great opportunity to renew
old friendships, make new ones, and experience all that Adelaide has to
offer.

Adelaide is one of the most beautiful cities in Australia located by
beautiful beaches on one side and expansive mountains and desert on the
other. Famous for its festivals, food and wine, Adelaide is an ideal place
to experience Australia. Attendees will be able to visit the Barossa Valley
for some of the best wine and food in the world, see kangaroos and koala in
the local wildlife parks, learn history in the fascinating local museums or
hike through breath-taking scenery.

ICAT-EGVE 2017 seeks original, high-quality submissions describing
research, applications or systems in all areas of Virtual Reality,
Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, Telexistence, and 3D User Interfaces.
Research papers should describe results that contributes to advancements in
the following areas:

·      3D interaction for VR/AR

·      VR/AR systems and toolkits

·      User studies and evaluation for VR/AR/MR

·      Telexistence, Telepresence and Teleimmersion

·      Haptics, audio, and other non-visual modalities

·      Serious games and edutainment using VR/AR/MR

·      Presence, cognition, and embodiment in VR/AR/MR

·      Novel devices (both input and output) for VR, AR, MR, and haptics

·      Multi-user and distributed VR, AR, teleimmersion and telepresence

·      Immersive projection technologies and other advanced display
technologies

·      Submissions in other related areas are welcome too

All accepted papers are going to be published in the Eurographics Digital
Library. In addition, they will be cited and indexed in the ACM Digital
Library.

We will accept submissions in three categories:

·      Papers (Full or short)

·      Posters

·      Demonstrations

*Submission Information*

*Full papers* must be in English and not exceed eight (8) pages in length.
Short papers must be in English and not exceed four (4) pages in length.
*Posters* must be in English and not exceed two (2) pages in length.
*Demonstration* submissions consist of a description of the demonstration
not exceeding two (2) pages in length, and a video showing the
demonstration working.

ICAT-EGVE uses a double-blind review process. Therefore, submissions should
not contain information (including citations and optional videos) that
unnecessarily identifies the authors or their institutions or places of
work. All content must be submitted electronically as PDF. Authors are
encouraged to submit videos to aid the program committee in the review of
their submissions.

All submissions will be reviewed by the paper committee, poster chairs or
demonstration chairs. All accepted papers are going to be published in the
Digital Library of the Eurographics. In addition, they are going to be
cited and indexed in the ACM Digital Library, including the DOI. Accepted
posters and demonstrations will be published in the proceedings and in the
Eurographics Digital Library.

Note: Submissions should be original, unpublished work, and should not be
in submission to other venues concurrently. Any dual submissions will be
rejected outright without review.

Oct 23             Camera-ready paper version due

Oct 27            Notification of poster/demo results

Nov 22           Conference starts

The deadlines are Anywhere on Earth for those dates.

*Best Papers*

The authors of the best papers (selected by the award committee) will be
invited to submit an extended version of their paper to either the journal
Presence or the Computers and Graphics journal.
