Invitation to Submit Manuscripts - Call for Papers: Robotics Special Issue "Love and Sex with Robots"

Dear Colleagues,

Robotics is currently organizing a Special Issue entitled "Love and Sex with Robots ". As Guest Editors we kindly invite you to submit your manuscript for consideration for this peer-reviewed Special Issue.

Since more and more robots are being developed with the ability to perform tasks independent of assistance, the perception of them as “mere machines” is being re-evaluated. Research and development all over the world is rapidly experimenting and commercializing robots that perform everyday services. The major challenge for humans will be how to deal with the close proximity of social robots and the juxtaposition of new interactions. Social robots will play major roles in care giving, education, information and communication, etc., and when social robots are created with faultless physical dexterity and social skills, humans will naturally create new relationships with them. These connections will be diverse, and will compel society to redefine the prevailing definitions of human relations and bonds.

The topics of interest (but not limited to):

Robot Emotions

Humanoid Robots

Clone Robots

Entertainment Robots

Robot Personalities

Intelligent electronic sex hardware

Gender Approaches

Affective Approaches

Psychological Approaches

Sociological Approaches

Philosophical Approaches

Moral & ethical Approaches

For further reading, please follow the link to the Special Issue website

The submission deadline is 15 June 2018. You may send your manuscript now or up until the deadline. Submitted papers should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. We also encourage authors to send a short abstract or tentative title to the Editorial Office in

advance ([log in to unmask]).

Since Volume 6, all published papers will be added in Scopus. The journal is also

indexed in Web of Sciences (Thomson Reuters), as part of the ESCI database.

Robotics is fully open access. Open access (unlimited and free access by readers) increases publicity and promotes more frequent citations, as indicated by several studies. Open access is supported by the authors and their institutes. An Article Processing Charge (APC) of CHF 350 currently applies to all accepted papers. You may be entitled to a discount if you have previously received a discount code or if your institute is participating in the MDPI Institutional Open Access Program (IOAP), for more information see:

Thank you and looking forward to hear from you
