A Call for researchers and developers who have worked with chatbots, intelligent assistants, or other conversational agents.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
FEBRUARY 12: POSITION STATEMENT DUE 1500-2500 words, any readable PDF format

MAY 5: Full-day Workshop at CHI 2019 in Glasgow

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The past five years have seen an explosion of research and development of Conversational Agents. This workshop will examine this activity to see what worked and did not work in home, education, healthcare and work settings. Whether you have developed, studied, or used and reflected on personal assistants, chatbots, or related phenomena, consider spending a day advancing the state of the art. Position papers are welcome on areas of expertise and interest that include usage scenarios, user perceptions, humans as partners, skill development, ethics and trust. A manageable set of themes based on the submissions will be selected. Outcomes will include shared learnings and case studies, possibly UX guidelines, and above all else a consensus for what we can do to move the field forward. Three weeks to write a position statement, then three months to look forward to it.
