Affordable Eye Tracking Peripheral and Gaze Interaction Solutions:
VI Webshop opens at www.mygaze.com

VI’s myGaze® Computer Accessory Makes Eye Tracking Technology
Available for Application Developers and for UX Professionals using
Morae 3.3

Visual Interaction (VI) launched their webshop at www.mygaze.com
for easy access to its affordable myGaze® gaze tracking peripheral and
gaze interaction solutions which add eye tracking and eye control
functionality to a next generation of user interfaces. Currently VI
offers the myGaze® gaze tracking peripheral with three editions of
software development kits and a first dedicated solution for UX
Professionals at a very affordable price level. With these offerings
VI starts to deliver on its mission to make an eye tracker and
gaze-interaction available as a mainstream human computer interface,
e.g. for gaze-controlled video gaming or gaze interaction with
consumer PCs and in professional applications. VI also offers
affordable gaze tracking solutions for focused applications such as UX
analysis with TechSmith’s Morae 3.3 software.

“Gaze control will revolutionize human-computer-interaction and will
become as common a part of multimodal user interfaces as mouse and
touch screen.” Says Manfred Fallis, CEO of VI. “Gaze based interaction
will not replace the mouse but rather blend in with other interaction
modalities. Our myGaze® is a perfect starting point and eye tracking
tool for the many developers in academia and industry to realize their
ideas of next generation interfaces. Our goal is to make gaze-based
interaction commonly available and affordable and prevent anybody from
monopolizing the technology. Tobii, one of the high-price incumbents
in the market has announced to bring 5,000 Tobii Rex units to market
this year. Visual Interaction plans at least twice this number –
10,000 units until year end. Applications developed with and for
myGaze® will likely be easy to adapt to other gaze trackers and thus
will be able to address a market only limited by imagination.”

VI is launching the myGaze® webshop now for most countries in Europe,
the USA and Canada. Other markets will follow soon. The offerings
cover three different editions of VI’s myGaze® SDK: for professional
developers, academic/educational institutes and enterprises. Under any
of these editions myGaze® modules are available for use with the
applications developed with the SDKs. Furthermore, VI will make its
webshop available as a platform for sales of applications developed
for the myGaze® gaze tracking peripheral.

The first application available on the VI myGaze® webshop is VI’s own
solution for UX professionals: The myGaze® Professional UX Gaze
Tracking Lab for Morae 3.3.
