[Our sincere apologies if you receive multiple copies of this announcement]
***Call for Conference Bids: UMAP 2020 and beyond, the ACM Conference on User Modeling, Adaptation and Personalization***
Dear colleagues,
The UMAP conference series, sponsored by ACM and coordinated by User Modeling Inc. is looking for future hosts, for 2021 and 2022.
If you are interested in organizing and hosting ACM UMAP please contact me (Cristina Gena, [log in to unmask]) and
Lora Aroyo ([log in to unmask]) for detailed information, including the official guidelines.
When hosting UMAP the ACM takes all of the financial responsibility and therefore needs to approve a detailed bid with budget info.
This is why we must start the preparations almost two years in advance.
UMAP is a conference with typically between 130 and 190 participants.
UM Inc may provide some limited funds for sponsoring PhD students who wish to attend. ACM will contribute too.
But to ensure good student participation you should look for other sponsors as well.
UM Inc. collaborates closely with the organizer in selecting general and program co-chairs and other people involved and in practical matters like selecting the dates, the conference structure, etc.
The bids have to be sent by email to Lora Aroyo (president) Cristina Gena (secretary), no later than August 30, 2019.
Best regards,
Cristina Gena
(secretary of UM Inc.)
