*Research fellowship in the mobeybou project*

*Project Summary*
MoBeyBOU: Moving Beyond Boundaries - Designing Narrative Learning in the
Digital Era, sets out to contribute to the development of knowledge about
the learning and socializing potential of digital manipulatives (DM) among
young children and at the same time investigate its potential in the
enhancement of children's multiculturalism. The project involves the
development of a digital manipulative for story creation and playful
exploration, that combines a wide range of multicultural characters and
scenarios.

*Workplace*: The project is located at the University of Minho in Braga, a
UNESCO city of Media Arts, within the Research Centre on Child Studies
(CIEC) and the engageLab laboratory in collaboration with Aalborg
University within the X-lab laboratory and a Danish industry partner.

*WORK PLAN*
- Development of a platform for storytelling and a communication protocol
between the platform and a set of physical objects. The objects will be
detected by the system through the development of an API that establishes
the communication between the software and the hardware.
The work will expand and implement new features in a previous prototype
(TOK) https://sites.google.com/site/hybridlearningmaterials/videos).

*Duration* - 6 months from Oktober 1st and may be renewed up to the 18
months (Possibility to apply for a PhD research grant)

*Requirements *-  Master degree in Electronic Engineering or related
fields.
- knowledge of Circuit Design, Instrumentation of Sensors,
- Programming of Micro Processors, communication protocols,
- knowledge of programming languages C / C ++, Java.

Legislation and regulations: The scholarships are directed to applicants
under the law n.ยบ40/2004 of August 18th (Research Grant Holder Statute) and
the current conditions established on the FCT regulations
