The Geoinformation Group at TU Vienna in Austria is looking for a PhD Student, starting the earliest possible.

We welcome applications from students that are enthusiastic about working in the area of human-computer interaction with a focus on spatial interaction.

The main aim of this 4 year position is to develop an understanding and assist humans during interaction with elements of their surrounding as well as with digital information during spatial decision making.

The research is expected to lead to publications and a PhD dissertation for the student.

--- Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate must have an academic degree (Master Degree or equivalent) in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Science, Geoinformation Science), as well as strong research interests in Human-Computer Interaction and Geographic Information Science. Good programming skills (e.g., Java, C++, Python) as well as experience in machine learning applications are required. Previous experience with eye tracking, empirical research, mixed environments, computer vision and geographic information science is a plus. Furthermore, the candidate must have good communication skills in English (oral and written) and be a team player.

25h/week employment
Minimum 1746,75 Euro gross (14 x per year)
