****************** SUBMISSION DEADLINE - JANUARY 15TH ******************
The Basic Research Symposium is a special event with a five-year
history at CHI. It is a hybrid between a mini-conference and a
workshop that presents an opportunity for researchers from different
disciplines to share their visions through exchanging new developments
and insights from their own fields. The goal of the Symposium is to
provide an interactive forum to promote and enhance scientific
discussions of developing research issues. Discussion topics are
determined by participants' research interests.
SUBMISSIONS
Participation is limited to 30 participants. Invitation to the
Symposium will be based on a 1500 word (max.) position paper which
will be reviewed by the symposium organising committee.
Submissions should describe
* The research question that the work addresses
* The research methods that are employed or anticipated
* The problems with work in the identified area as a whole
* Problems or concerns with the current approach
* Questions that other symposium participants might be able to help
the author(s) address
All submissions should be in electronic form, and should include full
contact information (e-mail address, conventional address, URL if
available), a 50-100 word abstract, selected keywords and references
