A  three-year scholarship at the computer science department of the
University of Pisa (http://www.di.unipi.it/it/phd) in the Human-Computer
Interaction area is available, with preference for topics in the field
of  Design and development of usable human/robot interaction (a Pepper
robot is available for experiments). One interesting topic we would like
to consider in this area is end user development for robot interaction:
design and implementation of environments able to allow non-professional
developers to personalize the robot behavior and interaction.

The research activity will take place at the Human Interfaces in
Information Systems Laboratory  at CNR-ISTI, http://hiis.isti.cnr.it/,
which has funded the fellowship. It is a creative and multi-disciplinary
interactive technologies research laboratory, with deep and extensive
research collaborations, industrial partners, and a supportive working
environment.

Pisa is a lively small town located in Tuscany, near the coast,
characterised by the presence of a rich research ecosystem (three
Universities and many research centres) very active in the ICT area.

We are therefore looking for deserving candidates. It is useful to have
some programming knowledge, interest and passion for topics related to
Human-Computer Interaction, and to carry out research activities.

The application procedure is available at
http://dottorato.unipi.it/index.php/en/application-process-for-the-academic-year-2019-2020.html

Applicants must have earned a master degree by the end of October 2019.

Candidates wishing to attend the videoconference are required to upload
the form in attachment D
(http://dottorato.unipi.it/images/stories/competition2019_2020/documents/allegatod_eng.pdf),
during online procedure.

Deadline: 29 May 2019 h 13.00 (Central European Time)

For further information any interested potential candidate can contact
fabio.paterno at isti.cnr.it.
