Are you planning to go to ACM IDC 2020 (https://idc.acm.org/2020/)? This
conference has gone virtual.

I will offer a course an elicitation course, Thursday, June 18th. It will
start at 7 AM Mountain Time (9 AM Eastern Time).

Description: This course is part of the 2020 ACM Interaction Design and
Children (IDC) conference. This course will prepare students to both
analyze and conduct gestures and multi-modal elicitation studies. These
skill sets are critical as emerging technologies continue to shift how we
interact with systems.

Students will learn how to interpret existing elicitation studies, learn
from current practices, understand the benefit of different elicitation
techniques, and discuss alternative user-centric study designs, such as
guessability studies and preference studies. Students will get hands-on
practice on how to conduct a study and analyze the results. Finally, we
will provide information about conducting children's elicitation studies
based on our experiences gained from work done in collaboration with the
early childhood center at Colorado State University.

You can find a complete description and material here:
https://www.cs.colostate.edu/ElicitationCourse/#/

You must register for https://idc.acm.org/2020/registration/ to attend the
course.

PS: I'm also looking for one or two student volunteers that may help us
during the session, in particular with Mozilla Hubs. I'm not sure if I will
be able to get you access to the rest of the conference but at least you
will get access to the course.

Thanks,
Francisco R. Ortega, Ph.D.
