Final Call for Demo Submissions
Deadline extended to June 21, 2019!
"Mensch und Computer 2019" Conference (German HCI Conference)
September 8-11, 2019
Hamburg, Germany
http://muc2019.mensch-und-computer.de
Dear Colleagues,
Until June 21, 2019 (extended deadline) you can still submit abstracts for Interactive Demos to be presented at Mensch und Computer 2019 (German HCI conference) in Hamburg (https://muc2019.mensch-und-computer.de/cfp_mensch-computer-interaktion/).
We are looking forward to your submissions, including student submissions from your workgroups. This track is especially suited for students and PhD students to present their work, extend their personal network, and collect conference experiences.
We also accept submissions of demos which have previously been presented at international conferences outside of the German HCI community. In addition, authors of accepted full papers are invited to submit a demo. For these authors, it is sufficient to submit the accepted full paper along with the demo data sheet. Please not, that those submissions will, however, not be published again in the ACM DL.
Accepted demo contributions will be presented in a separate demo session and shall encourage the participants to experience, explore, and discuss the demonstrators and foster scientific exchange. The session will start with a demo madness session where all contributions will briefly be presented to encourage the whole audience to visit the individual exhibitions. The demo abstract consists of a short description of the system / artistic artifact on 2-4 pages. The submission shall not be anonymous and is ideally accompanied by a short video which shows the interactive system in use. Accepted contributions will be published in the ACM Digital Library and the GI Digital Library.
The Mensch und Computer (MuC) conference https://www.mensch-und-computer.de/ is an annual conference organised by the German Informatics Society (Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. https://gi.de/) and the German Usability Professionals Association (German UPA https://www.germanupa.de/). With more than 700 participants, MuC is one of the largest HCI conferences in Europe.
The main scope of the conference is to connect people with other IT professionals, keep in touch with the latest trends in the field of HCI, interface design and usability. Therefore, MuC comprises two main tracks. While the scientific track (“Mensch-Computer-Interaktion” - MCI) presents new research findings in the field of HCI, the practice-oriented section (“Usability Professionals” - UP) focuses on state-of-the-art reports and workshops on usability and user experience.
For the first time, this year accepted contributions will be published in the ACM Digital Library and will be assigned an ACM DOI. As in previous years, all accepted submissions will also be made available through the digital library of the German Informatics Society.
To strengthen the international profile of the conference, we welcome and encourage submissions and presentations in English. Although the main conference language is traditionally German, also other parts of the program will be in English (e.g. Keynotes).
Best regards,
Your 2019 Demo Chairs
