Dear All,

*Apologies for Cross-Posting*

The Gender/Diversity in Informatics Systems<https://www.uni-kassel.de/eecs/fachgebiete/gedis.html> (GeDIS) group at the University of Kassel and fempower.tech<http://fempower.tech> (based at Northumbria University and Newcastle University) in Newcastle, UK wish to invite you to a two-day workshop titled “Methods, Theories, and Taking Action through Gender and Feminisms in HCI” that will take place at the Herrenhausen Palast in Hanover, Germany on the 15th-16th of July 2020. All your transportation, accommodation, and workshop fees will be covered by the Volkswagenstiftung grant we are jointly applying for.

In this highly interactive and participatory two-day workshop, we invite those who are interested in feminist Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and gender-related digital technologies to discuss questions of feminisms and technologies. The event will be structured around a series of interactive activities to reflect and build on methods, theories and practical aspects of HCI. We welcome people from a variety of disciplines (but especially Early Career Researchers) to bring their experience and knowledge to contribute to discussions. We hope that the event will be a way of building an international community around gender, feminist and technology areas in Europe, and to reflect critically on our role as researchers in this field.

If you would like to take part in this event, please fill out this Google Form: https://forms.gle/7M8sXuachpqwjzKA6

In this form, we will ask you to upload a short position paper (up to 2 A4 pages + references). In this position paper, we would like you to describe and reflect on a method, resource, toolkit, etc. which is informed by feminist issues such as gender, race, class, ability, etc. and which you have used or developed in any of your research projects. We will also ask you to present this position paper in a short, informal presentation during the event (format TBC) and hope to publish them on the EUSSET digital library.

The deadline for paper submission is Monday, 12 August 2019.

The form will also ask you to provide information on who you are (name, affiliation, and e-mail address - we will use this information as part of our funding application). We will also ask you about childcare needs you may have for the event, as well as any accessibility requirements you may have. Out of the interest of inclusion and sustainability, all food at our event will be vegan, and we will ensure we have food to suit all dietary requirements.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch either with Nana Kesewaa Dankwa [[log in to unmask]] or Angelika Strohmayer [[log in to unmask]].

All the best,
Nana, Angelika, Claude, Hazel, Kellie, and Rosie
