There MAY be a position for a postdoc in distributed algorithms, hosted by
Shay Kutten, at the Information Systems Group, a part of the Faculty of
Industrial
Engineering and Management of the Technion, Haifa, Israel.
THE DEADLINE IS VERY TIGHT: Please let me know ASAP.
The reason it is written as "MAY" is that a candidate may need to compete
with
candidates suggested by other areas of the faculty. (In addition, candidates
selection is done in several rounds; missing the first round means using the
second round, with lower chances).
The assignment is to start around October 2010, for one year. It is usually
possible to
extend it to a second year. A successful candidate will not be expected to
teach
(though if the candidate does want to teach, this probably can be arranged).
The
candidate is expected to perform research on Distributed Algorithms, under
the
supervision of the host, and in cooperation with the host and possibly other
researchers.
A modest fellowship between $1200 and $2400 per month will be given to a
successful
candidate, as well as an airline ticket to report to the Technion, and to
return home,
and a certain amount to cover travel for presenting a paper. The fellowship
is tax
exempt.
If you are interested, please write the host at [log in to unmask]
Reference letters (email is OK) will also be needed VERY soon. (Please
accept
apologies for the very short notice).
