CALL FOR PAPERS - Ubiquitous Computing
Special Issue of the International Journal of Human Computer
Interaction
Guest Editor: Professor Neville A. Stanton

Computing pervades most aspects of modern life in so many ways: mobile
communications; personal digital assistants; programmable domestic
household appliances; electronic banking; climate control systems;
navigation systems in cars; auto-teller machines; etc. What separates
this type of technology from regular computing is that the devices may
not necessarily look, feel or act like computers and the users of the
technology may be largely unaware of the computing. These users
probably expect to use the devices without any prior training and
without making mistakes. For the purposes of the special issue we are
interested in receiving research papers from people engaged in looking
at the nature of the interaction between humans and some embodiment of
ubiquitous computing. This may be a case study, an empirical research
study or a theoretical treatise.

For manuscript submission information, authors are requested to consult
the International Journal of Human Computer Interaction web site
http://ijhci.engr.ucf.edu/.

The deadline for submissions is the 31 May 2000. Send 4 copies of your
paper to:
