SIGCHI is looking for nominations for the SIGCHI Outstanding
Dissertation Awards chair. Please see here for information on the

If you are interested in serving in this role, please complete the short
nomination form below. If you know of someone who may be a good
candidate that you think we should reach out to, you can indicate that
here as well. If you know multiple people, you can fill this form out as
many times as you need.
Here is an explanation of the position’s responsibilities and requisite
skills/experience:
SIGCHI OUTSTANDING DISSERTATION AWARDS CHAIR
Each year SIGCHI recognizes the most outstanding research contributions
from recently graduated PhD students within the HCI community,
showcasing the quality and impact of HCI research. The role of the
Outstanding Dissertation Awards Chair is to provide leadership for the
Outstanding Dissertation Awards committee through assigning nominations
to the committee for review, facilitating the committee meetings and
decision process, and contacting awardees. The position will start in
2020 but this year the new chair will be learning the process.
Required skills:
* Have mentored 8 or more students who have completed dissertations in
areas related to HCI
* Good reading and writing skills in English
* Good organizational and team management skills
