WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES
The purpose of the workshop is to contribute to the progress of education in
Europe by means of creating a new synergy between the specialists on
cognitive science, philosophy, education theory and practice, artificial
intelligence, modern intelligent computer and communications technology.
The submissions on, in particular, the following topics are expected:
- recent results of cognitive psychology about the creativity;
- a large mental outlook and well-developed analogous thinking as important
preconditions of making discoveries in modern science and technology;
- developing the creativity while teaching languages, art, music, mathematics,
sciences;
- developing metaphoric thinking through studying poetry and art;
- the role of well-developed metaphoric thinking for understanding the ideas
of modern sciences and mastering modern technologies;
- the cognitive preconditions of fruitful acquainting children with computers;
- the role of the work with computers and the World Wide Web for developing
the creativity and large mental outlook;
- the limits of "robotizing" people by computers;
- developing analogous thinking;
- developing the skill of learning and building models;
- the role of communicative and cooperative skills in building models;
- cognitive preconditions of sustainable development; in particular, the
development in children and university students of the understanding of
the fact that he/she is only one link in a long chain of previous and
future generations and, as a consequence, must take into account the
interests of future generations while industrial interacting with the nature.
ISSEI2000 REGISTRATION AND ACCOMMODATION
The participants of the Workshop CLMO'2000 will register for the
International Conference ISSEI2000.

SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS
If you are interested, one-page abstract of a paper (4 hard copies), a short
Curriculum Vitae, and a Preliminary Registration Form (enclosed below in the
Call for Papers) are to be submitted both via air mail AND via e-mail (as
plain text letters, NOT as the attachments) to the Workshop Chair by
December 15, 1999.
The e-mail letters with abstracts are to include the Subject line
Bergen2000-Abstract-<your name>.

The conference secretariat will try to provide the required technical
equipment at your cost, but can not guarantee it. There will be no cost
for ordinary overhead projectors or/and slide projectors.

PREPARATION AND PUBLICATION OF COMPLETE PAPERS
Papers should not exceed 3.000 words, or 10 double-spaced pages, including
notes. Notes need not to be included in the presented papers, but should
be for the proceedings.
The selected papers submitted for the Workshop and presented during
ISSEI2000 will be published in the International Peer-Reviewed Online Journal
