LAST CALL FOR PAPERS
Aims and Scope
--------------
EG Multimedia'99 is a follow up of the Eurographics Workshop on Multimedia
held in Rostock in May 1996, and it continues a series of four successful
international Eurographics workshops on the field. It will cover technological
areas of media production, processing and delivery. Special focus will be
placed on issues related to media convergence. These include approaches to
and proposed standards for the integration of TV and the Web, as well as
image and sound content analysis, image and sound processing, paradigms and
metaphors for multimedia authoring and display. Multimedia content
authentication, security and e-commerce are also relevant to this workshop.
Authors are invited to submit technical papers in these or related areas.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Audio/Image/Video Processing Content Analysis
Multimedia Databases and Search Engines Content Based Retrieval
Multimedia Information Retrieval on the Web Media Web Servers and Services
E-Commerce and Security of Digital Content Delivery of Multimedia Data
Media Convergence: TV and the Web Media Integration
Multimedia Document Metaphors Authoring Paradigms
Distributed Interaction Architectures Browsing Paradigms
Applications, including Entertainment and Education
Submission Procedure (all submissions are electronic)

Authors are requested to submit papers, no longer than 10 pages. Papers should
be submitted by e-mail to [log in to unmask] We will accept papers
in PostScript or PDF formats. Selection will be based upon technical and
scientific content and relevance to the workshop. A Springer-Verlag book with
all the accepted papers is planned.
Workshop Format
---------------
The workshop will take place just before the Eurographics'99 Conference,
at the same location. As such, it will provide an important opportunity to
researchers planning to attend/present at either event, to spend more time
exploring topics of common interest. The workshop will be held in two days,
with paper presentation and discussion sessions, at Settore Didattico,
Universita degli Studi di Milano, Milan, Italy. Detailed information about
