This year, the ACM Symposium on User Interface Software and Technology (UIST) will take place virtually from October 20 - 23, and will be co-located with ACM CSCW. Our full program is now live at https://uist.acm.org/uist2020/program.html! For details on how the virtual conference will run, check out our Medium post: https://medium.com/acm-uist/the-plan-for-virtual-uist-2020-15a35a6818b4

Registration for UIST 2020 is open, and the early-bird registration deadline has been extended to September 30th! Read more and register now at https://uist.acm.org/uist2020/attending.html

Due to UIST being virtual this year, registration fees are much lower than in past years. In particular, the early-bird rate for all students is only $45.00 USD! This is a great opportunity for students to attend UIST for the first time. Feel free to forward this to anyone who may be interested, and if you are a supervisor of prospective student attendees, we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity and help as many of your students as possible to attend UIST!

We are also introducing two new programs this year for students and researchers living or working at universities in developing countries (https://www.isi-web.org/capacity-building/developing-countries), to reach out to diverse communities that are underrepresented and/or were especially impacted by the current pandemic.

(1) If you are currently studying or doing research in a developing country, complete this form https://forms.gle/Ltzr5gHPW4Cd18vM9 to apply for a reduced registration rate ($50 USD, or $25 USD for students). You do not need to be a SIGCHI member. If you are teaching, please encourage your students who are presently in these countries to apply. If you have questions regarding qualification, please contact the Registration Chairs ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>).

(2) We are also offering 30 Full Registration Scholarships sponsored by the SIGCHI Development Fund for students who are SIGCHI members and are currently studying in a developing country. To apply for one of these limited number of scholarships, please contact the Diversity and Inclusion Chairs ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>).

Note that UIST will be held in the morning (7am-12:30PM in North America’s Central Daylight Time https://uist.acm.org/uist2020/program.html), which lines up well with many countries in Central and South America that are eligible for the above opportunities.

More details about our plenary sessions will be added to the program in the coming weeks. Stay tuned, and hope to see you (virtually) at UIST!
