Welcome to the PODC list. You can send mail to the list using the email
address "[log in to unmask]".

PODC refers to the ACM Symposium on Principles of Distributed Computing.
The purpose of this mailing list to provide a forum for announcements of
interest to those who attend PODC as well as for the discussion of
non-technical topics of interest to the group, such as siting of the
conference.

This list is replacing the old PODC mailing list that was maintained by
Jim Burns at Telcordia. It is likely that you are receiving this
message
because you were on that mailng list.

This new list is supported by the ACM. Like the old list, it is
expected
that traffic on this list will be relatively light. The ACM list server
will automatically transmit mail to the list when sent by members of the
list. Mail sent to the list by others will be distributed only if
authorized by the list owner (Gil Neiger), who will filter out spam and
duplicate mailings.

Because this mailing list is supported by listserv software, you have
the
freedom to configure your subscription in a variety of ways. Look for
(and save) email with the subject "You have been added to the PODC
list".
It should give you instructions on how to customize your subscription.
