CALL FOR PARTICIPATION TO DUTCH
INTERACTION / INFORMATION / VISUAL / HCI DESIGNERS:
FOR DUTCH DESIGN DAY [DDD] AFTER CHI2000

The day after CHI2000, 7 April 2000, a Dutch Design Day (DDD) will be
organised to show the latest Dutch work in the field of HCI design. DDD is
an initiative of Informaat BV, the Netherlands Design Institute and IOP MMI
to bring together a Design market of the leading and leading edge in HCI
(Human-Computer Interaction) Design in the Netherlands. The purpose is also
to help bring together designers with researchers, engineers, and other
members of the CHI community. If you are a designer in the Netherlands, you
can participate and exhibit your designs without charge. DDD will try and
bridge the gap between the researchers, engineers and other disciplines of
HCI with the designers, that is the reason why the DDD has adopted the
slogan "Face the Design."

Dutch Design Day
DDD offers interaction-, visual-, information- and/or HCI-designers, the
opportunity to present their work to a large international community of
specialists in all other facets of HCI. The exhibits will be shown in
several close-by locations in Amsterdam. Also discussions among experts in
the field of design in the Netherlands and beyond will be planned. The day
will be capped off with a festive reception and party at the end. The
complete programme will be available in the beginning of next year.

Conditions
The following conditions apply for everyone who wants to exhibit during DDD:
o The work must be current work developed in the Netherlands (this can also
mean work developed in April 2000) that includes one or more aspects of
design and HCI including:
- interaction design
- information design
- visual design
- industrial design as it relates to HCI
o The presentation should be interactive allowing the attendees to try-out
and experience the designs themselves.
o The designer should be available during the day to discuss their work.
o Because we do not ask for costs of the event from the exhibitors, the
exhibitors do have to provide their own equipment (computers, monitors,
cables etc.). We will provide tables, chairs, and limited technical support.

Selection
Because of limited space and to assure that DDD will show the best that the
Dutch have to offer, a jury will be asked to make a selection of the total
number of submissions.

Apply
If you are interested in participating in DDD, than fill in the e-form
below, including a description of your design background (around 100 words):
