Team,

The 02 DEC 1997 issue of PC Magazine has an interesting editorial by
John C. Dvorak entitled "Eiffel and the Attack on Java" on page 87.
You can access it on line on Ziff-Davis Inc. site at:

     http://www.zdnet.com/pcmag/insites/dvorak_print/jd971202.htm

The article's point is that the MicroSoft vs. Java struggle
"is causing light to be shed on other languages such as Eiffel,
Clarion's TopSpeed, and even Ada."

Mr. Dvorak has a lot to say about the qualities and benefits of Eiffel,
and can point his readers to the ISE / Eiffel site to download a free
trial copy of the environment.

     http://www.eiffel.com

He concludes with "...look for Eiffel and other hot alternative
languages to become what Java was supposed to be."

Perhaps some eloquent Ada advocate could supply him with concise fresh
information about Ada95 and the Public Ada Library, and send a
copy of the latest Walnut Creek Ada CD-ROM to him. He may then find
it appropriate to point his readers to Ada sources in one of his
upcoming editorials, or at least in a "sound bite" style "pointer"
in his "Inside Track." I always read these two columns, and the
other editorials, in PC magazine first, and I think many others
do too. I'll bet seeing some solid Ada95 information in one of
Mr. Dvorak's columns would generate some more curiosity in the PAL,
and maybe win some new users, or at least induce more managers to
consider Ada95 if suggested or proposed to them.
