Last week D.C. SIGAda hosted a joint meeting to which several local ACM
chapters were invited. The topic was a discussion of the NRC Study on
DoD's software policies and their report "Ada and Beyond."
The speakers were Dr. Rayford Vaughn, of Electronic Data Systems and a
member of the NRC study committee, Mr. Emmett Paige of the Office of the
Secretary of Defense, and Drew Hamilton the new Chief of the AJPO. It was
a very worthwhile meeting for all those who braved the rain to attend.
At the meeting Mr. Paige requested input from the Ada community on several
issues, including the following:
1. Breadth of the definition of war-fighter software.
2. Remove the DoD s Ada policy on all system development.
3. Where to put the AJPO so it can continue it mission?
4. Who to recommend for his position when he retires?
If you have input, please forward it to his email address below.
