Within the last 2 days, SIGAda'99 attendees booked every last room at the
Crowne Plaza (significantly beyond the # in the room block we had
reserved). Therefore, we have arranged small room blocks (10 & 20 rooms)
at competitive rates at two very nearby, smaller hotels. Blocks are being
held for the week of SIGAda'99 until OCTOBER 1 or until exhausted at:

(1) PORTOFINO INN: 260 Portofino Way, Redondo Beach, CA 90277
(.1 mile west of the Crowne Plaza, literally "on" the Pacific)
      310-379-8481
Tell Reservations that you're with the "SIGAda'99" group
to get our $109 group rate here.

(2) BEST WESTERN SUNRISE: 400 N. Harbor Drive, Redondo Beach, CA 90277
(right across the street from the Crowne Plaza)
      310-376-0746
Tell Reservations that you're with the "SIGAda'99" group
to get our $99 group rate here.

On Oct.1 any unused rooms in these blocks will be released back into the
hotel inventory. After that, or after our blocks are exhausted, you can
ask for our group rate on an "as available" basis; you should get it if the
hotel is not overall booked >= 90% capacity.

PS to DAVID HARRISON: Plz put a prominent notice about overflow hotels
right at the top of the conf. webpage (so people see it without even
scrolling) and link to a new page with the above info. Thanks.
