WIP Deadline: April 1, 2003
Author guidelines:
Submission address: [log in to unmask]
Publication date: May 2003

IEEE Pervasive Computing magazine invites articles relating to the human
experience in pervasive computing. We especially welcome papers that
lie at the intersection of systems and HCI, and offer useful insights to
either or both of those research communities.

Example topics include (but are not limited to):

user impact of mobile or ubiquitous computing applications
     quantitative and/or qualitative evaluation techniques
case studies of deployed systems (commercial or experimental),
emphasizing interaction
     design and usability evaluation
theories of interaction and/or cognition as influenced by
ubiquitous computing
novel interaction techniques for wearables, handhelds or
large-scale surfaces
     input/output technologies for off-the-desktop interaction
tradeoffs between speed and accuracy of evaluation
product design for improving the human experience (including novel
systems, appliances
or artifacts of artistic or conceptual design)

Submissions should be 4,000 to 6,000 words long and should follow the
magazine's guidelines
on style and presentation. All submissions will be anonymously reviewed
in accordance with
normal practice for scientific publications. Submissions should be
received by January 13, 2003
to receive full consideration.

In addition to full-length submissions, we also invite work-in-progress
submissions of 250 words
or less. These will not be peer-reviewed, but will be edited by the
staff into a feature for the
issue. The deadline for work-in-progress submissions is April 1, 2003.

If you have any questions, please contact the Lead Editor, Shani Murray
