engineering and knowledge engineering to discuss on relevant results in
either knowledge engineering or software engineering or both.
Special emphasis will be put on the transference of methods between
both domains. However, outstanding research results and innovative
methodologies for software engineering or knowledge engineering
alone are also being solicited.

PAPER SUBMISSION

Submissions that address research and development
on the above and other related topics are strongly encouraged.
The scientific quality of contributed papers will be ensured by
a severe revision process, that will involve all members of the Program
and the Steering Committees.
The Proceedings will be published by a well known press company.
A selection of the best papers in software engineering and knowledge
engineering will be published in a Special Issue of the International
Journal of Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering.

Papers will be submitted electronically. Detailed information on
electronic submission will be provided at the SEKE'02 Web site.

VENUE

We look forward to welcoming you in Ischia. also called "The Green
Island", the largest of the three island in the bay of Naples. Ischia is

situated to the north of the gulf looking toward the "Flegrea" coast,
while in the south of the gulf, opposite to the Sorrento peninsula,
lays Capri.
The Island of Ischia is one of the most attractive and most visited
resorts of Southern Italy. It is internationally renowned, not only
for its natural beauty and its clear sea waters, but also because of the

volcanic origin of the island which makes it one of the major Thermal
Treatment Center in Europe.
You can reach Ischia from Naples either by ferry boat ( in 75 minutes),
or by hydrofoil ( 30 minutes). When in Ischia, be sure not to miss the
Aragonese Castle, the tower of St. Angelo, the beach of Maronti, and the

Thermal Parks, as well as the Tourist Port, bulging with private yachts
coming from all over Europe and the Mediterranean Countries.
