12 Myths of Mobile UI Design

Presented by:
Aaron Marcus, President, Aaron Marcus and Associates, Inc. (AM+A)

Time and place:
Wednesday April 14th, 2004
7-9pm
Sibley Auditorium, Bechtel Hall, UC Berkeley

As mobile devices continue to proliferate, UI and software developers need
to work together to make the most useful, usable, and appealing products
and systems. Keeping in mind the difference between myths and
misconceptions may help developers to design UIs that show the right
things, in the right way, at the right time, to the right people. We'll
all benefit.

About the Speaker:
Mr. Marcus has published, lectured, tutored, and consulted
internationally for more than 30 years and has been an invited
keynote/plenary speaker at conferences of ACM/SIGCHI, ACM/SIGGRAPH, and
the Human Factors and Ergonomic Society, as well as conferences
internationally.

The East Bay BOF holds meetings regularly in Berkeley. It was created for
East Bay software/internet companies with a usability focus, as well as
for students and faculty at UC Berkeley interested in human computer
interaction. Although BayCHI membership is encouraged, it is not a
requirement for participation in BayCHI BOFs. The talks are free and open
to the public.
