*Using Technology for Assessment Practices in Science Classrooms*

This presentation will discuss technology tools, standards and
research-based pedagogical practices that support teachers in listening to
and responding to students' learning needs. Dr. DeBarger's projects explore
ways to improve learning and teaching through formative assessment
practices.

Angela Haydel DeBarger's research interests are in the design and
validation of innovative assessments and in studying student motivation in
learning activities. Her current work focuses on designing
technology-supported formative assessments and large-scale assessments. Dr.
DeBarger holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and a B.A. degree in
Psychology from Stanford University, and an M.S. degree in Psychology from
