SoftVis'06 : Call for Posters

Due date: June 20, 2006

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 2006 ACM Symposium
on Software Visualization (SoftVis'06) to be held September 4-5, 2006
in Brighton, UK.

We invite you to consider presenting a Poster at SoftVis'06.

This poster session provides an opportunity for participants to
present and discuss their research. This event will feature concurrent
short presentations by participants organized in poster formats. Each
participant will be allowed space on an easel for the presentation.
SoftVis'06 attendees will be able to wander among the posters and talk
to presenters about their research.

An award will be presented for the best poster presentation.

(Also watch for the Software Visualization Challenge Problem, an
interactive way to participate in SoftVis. Details coming soon
at www.softvis.org.)

Software visualization encompasses the development and evaluation of
methods for graphically representing different aspects of software,
including its structure, its abstract and concrete execution, and its
evolution. The goal of this symposium is to provide a forum for
researchers from different backgrounds (HCI, software engineering,
programming languages, visualization, computer science education) to
discuss and present original research on software visualization.

Poster presentations describing research in the following areas are
welcome:

 * Visualization of algorithms, including numerical, geometric,
   genetic, distributed and graph algorithms

 * Visualization in software engineering, e.g. UML diagrams

 * Visualization-based software in computer science and software
   engineering education

 * Integration of software visualization tools and development
   environments

 * Program visualization

 * Protocol and log visualization (security, trust)

 * Visualization of parallel programs

 * Visualization of the software development process

 * Visualization of data and processes in applications

 * Graph drawing algorithms for software visualization

 * Visualization of data base schemes

 * Visual debugging

 * 3D software visualization

 * Software visualization on the internet

 * Program analyses and visualization

 * Empirical evaluation of software visualization system effectiveness

 * Visualization of Web Services

 * Visualization of workflow and business processes

Before submitting a poster abstract, please note the following:

- Abstracts should not exceed one US Letter size page. Authors should prepare and
  electronically submit a PDF version of their poster abstract following the
  instructions for authors of conferences sponsored by ACM SIGGRAPH.

- All abstracts must be submitted by email to [log in to unmask] by June 20, 2006.

- At least one of the abstract authors must be present at the
  conference.

- Notification of acceptance/rejection of abstracts: by June 25, 2006

- Details at: http://www.softvis.org/softvis06/posters.html

All questions pertaining to the SoftVis'06 poster session should
be directed to Eileen Kraemer at [log in to unmask]
