WORKSHOP OBJECTIVE:
The objective of the workshop is to provide an open and constructive discussion forum of important HCI research in Information Systems that addresses the ways humans interact with information, technologies, and tasks - especially in business, managerial, organizational, social and/or cultural contexts. HCI in MIS is concerned with the macro level (versus the micro level) of Human-Computer Interaction analysis.

SPECIAL THEME PAPERS OF JAIS:
The best, completed research papers from the workshop will be fast-tracked for publication consideration in the Journal of the Association for Information Systems (JAIS) - http://jais.isworld.org <http://jais.isworld.org/>.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER:
Jane Carey, Associate Professor at Arizona State University, will present "Reflections on the Discipline and the Community." The talk will trace the origins, referent disciplines, and history of HCI within the IS context. An initial unifying model for future endeavors will be suggested with an invitation to the audience to provide feedback or alternative models. We will also celebrate the momentous occasion of the launch of our own journal which is a first for any SIG in AIS. The talk will end with a call to action.
