We cordially invite you to participate to the 3rd ACM Conference on Digital Interactive Media in Entertainment and Arts - DIMEA 2008 that will take place next week, during 10-12 September 2008, at Athens Information Technology premises, in Athens, Greece.

DIMEA conferences target to the presentation of societal, business and technological advances and research results in cross-disciplinary areas related with digital interactive media in entertainment, arts and creative technologies. 

Keynote Talks will be given by Prof. Nadia Magnenat-Thalmann, Miralab, University of Geneva, Dr. Roberto Cencioni, Head of Unit INFSO.E2 Content and Knowledge, European Commission, Dr. Ioannis Mihalou(di)s, Visual Artist and Prof. Michael Meimaris, University of Athens.

The conference program includes 17 regular oral sessions in a wide range of the DIMEA 2008 scientific and technological areas, including edutainment, games, interactive storytelling, digital art, enhanced visualization, collaboration spaces, virtual and augmented reality, advanced interaction, etc. 

Two Special Sessions in the areas of User Centric and Personalised Multimedia Service Platforms and Mobile Mixed Reality Games and a Technical Workshop on Pervasive Awareness applications: addressing their Aesthetic and Ludic aspects further enrich the conference technical program.

The conference simultaneously hosts a Digital Art and Entertainment Exhibition including innovative digital interactive rich-media artistic and entertainment works. 

Participants may further opt to participate to one or more of the 5 half-day multi-thematic Tutorials on the first day of the conference, being: 
     1. Inside and Outside the UpStage: Live Participative On-line Cyberformance
     2. Authoring Tools for Web Comics
     3. User Experience Design for Interactive TV
     4. Developing a videogame: from concept to your TV, 
     5. Developing play tactics in the Web 2.0 era

The Foundation of the Hellenic World (http://www.fhw.gr) supports DIMEA 2008 with a "Virtual Cinema" Demo in the DIMEA 2008 Industrial Exhibition, that includes exhibitors such as Intralot, Vermantia Group, Intracom IT Services, Telmaco, SQLearn, HOL.
