===============SciVis Short Papers===============Submission Deadline: June
13, 2018For the first time, the 2018 IEEE Scientific Visualization (SciVis)
conference solicits submissions in a new short paper format. Short papers
offer a new way to contribute recent results and preliminary work to the
VIS conference, creating an opportunity to showcase late-breaking research
results, which may be especially valuable for younger researchers.For
details visit:

<[log in to unmask]>===============Tutorials===============Submission
Deadline: April 30, 2018Tutorials are intended to cover a wide selection of
topics related to visualization and provide background on techniques, tools
and application domains relevant for visualization. Submissions consist of
a three-page outline of your proposed tutorial. Successful proposals will
receive up to 2 complimentary full week conference registrations for
tutorial presenters.For details, visit

===============Panels===============Submission Deadline: June 15,
2018Panels address important and/or controversial applications and issues
in visualization today. In particular, we invite topics in connection with
interesting application fields. Panels bringing together potential users of
visualization technology (e.g., practitioners and industry professionals)
and leading researchers, or panels consisting of experts in fields that
might teach us important concepts (e.g., perceptual psychology, visual
design, color theory, user-interface design) are welcome. For details,

===============Posters===============Submission Deadline: June 16, 2018The
poster program offers a timely venue to present and discuss new
visualization research through a forum that encourages graphical
presentation, demonstration and active engagement with IEEE VIS
participants. Submissions consist of a two-page summary of your work.
Interactive poster sessions will provide a forum for presenting your work
and discussing new ideas with your peers. Live demos and videos are
encouraged. Posters will be displayed throughout IEEE VIS and the summary
will be published in the electronic conference proceedings.For details,

Colloquium====================Submission Deadline: May 10, 2018 The
doctoral colloquium offers a forum for PhD Students to present their
proposed dissertation work and receive feedback from leading senior
visualization researchers. The colloquium will support community-building
by connecting beginning and advanced researchers. We invite contributions
from the visual analytics, information visualization, and scientific
visualization student communities. The DC call is open to all PhD students,
regardless of whether they are presenting research work at the main
conference or not. Preference will be given to students who will gain most
from the experience, meaning students who are in the process of formulating
their dissertation topic or who have just formulated a dissertation topic.

<[log in to unmask]>====================Symposium on Visualization
in Data Science (VDS)====================Submission Deadline: Jul 13,
2018Visualization is an integral part of data science, and essential to
enable sophisticated analysis of data. After three highly successful
events, the fourth Symposium on Visualization in Data Science (VDS) will
again be held at IEEE VIS 2018. VDS will bring together domain scientists
and methods researchers (including visualization, usability and HCI, data
management, statistics, machine learning, and software engineering) to
discuss common interests, talk about practical issues, and identify open
research problems in visualization in data science. We solicit
contributions in the form of papers and abstracts / talks. Extended
versions of selected papers will appear in the IEEE Transactions on Big
Data.For details, visit http://www.visualdatascience.org

<[log in to unmask]>====================Symposium on Visualization for Cyber
Security (VizSec)====================Submission Deadline: June 30,
2018VizSec explores effective and scalable visual interfaces for security
domains such as network security, computer forensics, reverse engineering,
insider threat detection, cryptography, privacy, user assisted attacks
prevention, compliance management, wireless security, secure coding, and
penetration testing. We are soliciting full papers describing novel
contributions in security visualization, short papers describing practical
applications, and poster abstracts. If you do not have real-world data to
demonstrate your visualization, you may be interested in looking at the
VizSec Data Sets page. The VizSec 2018 proceedings will be published by
IEEE.For details, visit http://vizsec.org/ <http://vizsec.org/>Contact:

on Large Data Analysis and Visualization
(LDAV)====================Submission Deadline: June 24, 2018 Modern
large-scale scientific simulations, sensor networks, and experiments are
generating enormous datasets, with some projects approaching the multiple
exabyte range in the near term. Managing and analyzing large datasets to
generate insights is critical for a variety of disciplines including
climate science, nuclear physics, security, materials design,
transportation, and urban planning. The tools and approaches needed to
mine, analyze, and visualize data at extreme scales can be fully realized
only if there are end-to-end solutions, which demands collective,
interdisciplinary efforts. The 8th IEEE Large Scale Data Analysis and
Visualization (LDAV) symposium, to be held in conjunction with IEEE VIS
2018, is specifically targeting methodological innovation, algorithmic
foundations, and possible end-to-end solutions. The LDAV symposium will
bring together domain scientists, data analysts, visualization researchers,
and users to foster common ground for solving both near- and long-term
problems. For details, visit http://ldav2018.org/ <http://ldav2018.org/>

(7th Workshop on Evaluation and Beyond - Methodological Approaches for
Visualizations)====================Submission Deadline: June 30th, 2018The
BELIV workshop series is a biennial event focusing on the methodological
challenges in visualization. BELIV 2018 has an extended scope to discuss
research methods in visualization broadly, from novel and not-yet fully
established evaluation methods for visualization tools and techniques to
methods that more generally establish the validity and scope of acquired
visualization knowledge. Complementary to the broad scope on research
methods, 2018 will also include a focus topic—replication practices in
visualization—which will shape half of the workshop. The workshop will
allow authors of accepted papers to showcase their methodological research
during an interactive poster session, as well during an invited tutorial
session.For details, visit http://www.beliv.org

<[log in to unmask]>========VISAP’18========Submission Deadline: June
1, 2018The VIS Arts Program (VISAP) is a forum where visualization
researchers, designers, and media artists come together to discuss topics
in data visualization around an annual theme, intended to be relevant to
art, design, and academic research communities. It is the biggest
associated event in the IEEE VIS conference, and its main goal is to foster
new thinking, discussion, and collaboration between fields.The theme for
VISAP’18 is data and identities. We invite submissions that reflect on how
data collected through our everyday use of digital devices and services
shape our online and offline identities, as well as how they may affect our
social interactions. VISAP’18 proposes to be a space for exploring the
complex dynamics between the collection and presentation of personal data,
their link to our identities and how we portray ourselves (both
introspectively and to others), and for questioning whether the answer to
who am I? can truly be found in observable, exterior, objective measures.
