**CALL FOR WORKSHOP PROPOSALS**
Como (Italy), June 22-25, 2020
https://secon2020.ieee-secon.org/authors/call-for-workshops/

The 17th annual IEEE International Conference on Sensing, Communication and Networking (SECON 2020) will provide a unique forum to exchange innovative research ideas, recent results, and share experiences among researchers and practitioners in wireless networks, mobile systems, and the Internet of Things (IoT). The focus of IEEE SECON 2020 especially aims at showcasing systems research, experimentation, hands on evaluations, and cross-disciplinary wireless research dealing with pioneering work at the intersection of wireless and parallel disciplinary areas (e.g., new devices, physics, biology, computing, medicine, etc.).
IEEE SECON 2020 will hold a full day of workshops on Monday, June 22, 2020, co-located with the main conference at the Teatro Sociale in Como, Italy. The goal of the workshops is to provide a forum for researchers to discuss early research results and share experiences on specific topics that are more focused than those of the general conference.
Topics for workshops are aligned with the main conference and include, but are not limited to:

* Blockchain technologies for networking
* Internet of Things, Nano-Things and Bio-Nano-Things
* Alternative communication technologies (NFC, Terahertz, optical, underwater etc.)
* Machine Learning for sensing, communication and networking
* New architectures: Edge/Fog computing, In-network processing etc.
* Next generation wireless applications: Virtual/augmented reality, smart cities etc.
* Security, privacy, and trustworthiness of mobile, wireless and sensor systems
* Software-defined and programmable networks
* Vehicular networks and autonomous driving
* Unmanned aerial networks and robotic wireless networks
* Wearable computing and wireless health, Intra-body and molecular networks
* Testbeds and platforms for advanced wireless research
* Cognitive radio and dynamic spectrum access
* Battery-less sensing, communication, and networking
* Social media exploitation for sensing and dissemination
* Cellular communications and data networks, including 5G and beyond

**Proposal Submission**

The workshops should target the March-April time frame for paper submissions with acceptance notifications approximately one month later, and the camera-ready version of accepted papers due no later than May 1, 2020.
Please include the following information in your workshop proposal:
*A draft call for papers (as complete as possible), which should include:
   - Motivations, aims, and rationale for the workshop,
   - Names and affiliations of workshop organizers,
   - Tentative composition of the technical program committee.
*Workshop details:
   - Workshop title,
   - Proponent's name, institution, and bio sketch,
   - Motivations and background,
   - Contribution format (short / long papers, demo session, panels, poster session, etc.),
   - Workshop deadlines (internal & external),
   - Expected number of submissions / accepted papers and (if known) participants,
   - Workshop promotion (how you will publicize the event),
   - Prior history of the workshop, if any (including number of submissions, of accepted papers, and of attendees).

Workshop organizers should email their single-file PDF proposal to the workshop chairs by January 17, 2020 (please use [IEEE SECON2020] Submission of Workshop proposal - "proposer_last_name" as the subject of the email).
Notification of workshop acceptance will be sent by January 23, 2020.
