*********************** FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS ************************
Euro ITV 2012 * July 4-6 2012 * Berlin, Germany
“Bridging People, Places and Platforms”

** Systems and Enabling Technologies Track **

Conference: http://bit.ly/euroitv2012
Systems Track: http://bit.ly/euroitv-systems2012

Full paper submissions due: January 7th, 2012

The Systems and Enabling Technologies Track solicits the submissions
of original research papers dealing with innovative solutions for
Interactive TV and Video systems: from application prototypes to real
world system infrastructures to social data collection and analysis.

Video and television offers a global platform for media consumption,
engagement and sharing. To be successful, interactive video and TV
services require advanced approaches beyond a web-browser running on a
set top box. The overall architecture and system represent a complex
ecosystem of people and devices. This ecosystem includes devices and
interaction connectivity, the underlying architecture to support this
connectivity, as well as the instrumentation and data analysis that
enable advanced functionality such as synchronization and content
recommendation.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

* Devices & techniques: descriptions of the design, architecture,
usage and evaluation of devices and techniques that create valuable
new capabilities for interactive television and video.

* Systems & infrastructures: descriptions of the design, architecture,
deployment and evaluation of systems and infrastructures that support
interactive television and video.

* Data Science & Services: descriptions of advanced computational
systems based on content and/or user generated data to support
collaborative filtering, interactive/synchronous environments,
collective intelligence and crowd-sourcing, or location-based and
context-aware applications and services.

* Applications: descriptions of the design and/or study of
applications that leverage interactive television and video devices
and systems.

Track Chairs:
- David A. Shamma, Yahoo! Research, USA
- Teresa Chambel, Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal

Program Chairs:
- Hendrik Knoche, EPFL, Switzerland
- Jan Hess, University of Siegen, Germany
