Symposium on Smart Environments & Internet of Things will be held in the
frame of the 25th International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and
Computer Networks (SoftCOM 2017), technically co-sponsored by the IEEE Communication
Society (ComSoc), in attractive ambience of Split on September 21-23, 2017.
Recent advances in areas like pervasive computing, machine learning, wireless and
sensor networking enable various smart environment applications in everyday life.
The main goal of this symposium is to present and discuss recent advances in the area
of the Internet of Things, in particular on technologies, architectures, algorithms and
protocols for smart environments with emphasis on real smart environment applications that
are becoming research topics more and more interesting for both academia and industry.
We cordially invite speakers who wish to present original papers on the
following subjects, but not limited to:
- RFID and NFC
- Wireless Sensor Networks
- Energy consumption minimization
- 6LoWPAN, CoAP, MQTT and ETSI M2M
- Middleware and Architecture for the IoT
- Smart devices and intelligent products
- Ubiquitous/Pervasive computing
- Localization technologies
- Location-aware Services
- Speech and speaker recognition
- Text-to-Speech (TTS)
- Virtual and augmented reality environments
- Human Computer Interaction (HCI)
- Low power sensing and ambient energy harvesting
- Wearable technologies
- Robotics
- Embedded Systems
- RFID and IoT tecnologies in Biomedicine
- Case studies, field trials, and industrial Applications
- Manufacturing, Logistic and Supply Chain
- Micro-payments by NFC
- Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS)
