SIGCHI seeks nominations for its five major annual awards. All nominations
are due by November 22, 2013. Nominations should include a brief summary
(maximum one page) of how the nominee meets the criteria for the award, as
well as the names and contact information of people who endorse the nominee
and are knowledgeable about the qualifications of the nominee. General
questions can be sent to [log in to unmask]

The SIGCHI Awards recognize and honor outstanding contributions to the
field of human-computer interaction. There are five kinds of SIGCHI Awards:
the Lifetime Research Award, the Lifetime Practice Award, election to the
SIGCHI Academy, the Social Impact Award, and the Lifetime Service Award.
These awards are intended to recognize outstanding work by members of the
SIGCHI community, although for some of the awards, exceptional people from
outside our community may be considered.

Lifetime Research Award: Nominations of individuals who have contributed
the very best work in shaping the field, SIGCHI's highest honor for
research contributions. Nominees should be reasonably active participants
in the ACM SIGCHI community, although people outside of this community with
outstanding and relevant achievements may be considered in exceptional
circumstances. Nominations should be submitted to
[log in to unmask], to the attention of Saul Greenberg.

Lifetime Practice Award: Nominations of individuals who have made
outstanding contributions to the practice, application, and understanding
of human-computer interaction, SIGCHI's highest honor for practice
contributions. Nominees typically will be reasonably active participants in
the ACM SIGCHI community. However, we recognize that many outstanding
practitioners are also active in other professional communities, so we will
take this into account in considering nominations. Nominations should be
submitted to [log in to unmask], to the attention of Saul
Greenberg.

SIGCHI Academy: Nominations of individuals who have made substantial
contributions to the field of human-computer interaction; nominations
should include a summary of the person's contributions with evidence of the
cumulative contribution, influence of the work on others, and development
of new directions. Nominees for this award should be reasonably active
participants in the ACM SIGCHI community. Nominations should be submitted
to [log in to unmask], to the attention of Saul Greenberg.

SIGCHI Social Impact Award: Nominations of individuals who through their
work have made substantial contributions to pressing social needs. Nominees
typically will be reasonably active participants in the ACM SIGCHI
community. However, we recognize that many outstanding individuals are also
active in other professional communities, so we will take this into account
in considering nominations. Nominations should be submitted to
[log in to unmask], to the attention of Loren Terveen.

SIGCHI Lifetime Service Award: Nominations of individuals who have
contributed to the growth and success of SIGCHI through extended service to
the community over a number of years; nominations should include a summary
of the individual's service to SIGCHI and of the individual's influence on
the community at large through that service. Nominations should be
submitted to [log in to unmask], to the attention of Loren
Terveen.
