Call for participation: CHI 2012 Workshop on Designing and Evaluating
Text Entry Methods.

Workshop website: http://www.textentry.org/chi2012/

Submission deadline: January 13, 2012.

The aim of this workshop is to bring together people active in the
area of text entry. The workshop will be structured as a series of
panel discussions on topics of wide interest to the text entry
community, such as how we ensure scientific quality of the highest
calibre, how we maintain our legacy, and how new enabling technologies
can transform text entry research.

Researchers from both industry and academia with an interest in text
entry are invited to submit a position paper. The paper should be at
most four pages in the CHI Extended Abstracts format. This position
paper should consist of a description of current or recently completed
work in text entry. Optionally, this information can be complemented
with a description of what in your perspective are the most critical
or least appreciated aspects of a topic identified above; or a
description of a topic you think is missing or overlooked in current
text entry research. It is permissible to include material from prior
publications or submissions under review, as long as this is clearly
stated in your position paper. Acceptance of your position paper does
not preclude future publications of your work.

Participants will be selected on the basis of the quality of their
position paper. At least one author of each accepted paper must
register for the workshop and for one day of the conference itself.
Participants will be invited to present a position statement on at
least one panel and will also be invited to present an optional poster
on their current interests in text entry research.
