Two fully funded PhD fellowships are available in Exercising Games for Healthy Ageing at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway.

The candidate will be member of the EXACT ("Exergaming for active healthy ageing and rehabilitation") project team at the Department of Computer and Information Science. The aim of the EXACT project is to develop health care technology based on the concept of exergames as a playful way of exercising to increase overall physical activity, and to administer and monitor patient-specific exercises in rehabilitation programs.

The project is multi-disciplinary, drawing on expertise from physiotherapy, movement science, user-centered design, and human computer interaction. The PhD candidate will work on the design, development and evaluation of exergames, both screen-based, on the body / in the environment of the user.

We are looking for candidates with well-developed analytical and problem solving skills who are motivated for doctoral studies. We have two PhD positions open, one on design and evaluation, and one on prototyping and implementation. The two will work together closely in the project.

Requirements for position 1: A relevant background in Interaction Design / Game Design / User-Centred Design.
Requirements for position 2: A technical background relevant for the project (e.g. gaming platforms, internet-of-things, app development)
