ASSETS 2004

The Sixth International ACM SIGACCESS Conference on Computers and Accessibility

October 18 - 20, 2004
Atlanta, Georgia USA

You are invited to attend ASSETS 2004, the ACM SIGACCESS Conference focusing on computer-based system design and its application to the special needs of persons with disabilities. The conference's scope spans special needs associated with speech, motor, hearing, and vision impairments; cognitive limitations; emotional and learning disabilities; and aging. Researchers and developers, from both academia and industry, are invited to meet to exchange ideas and present reports on new hardware and/or software advances related to these areas.

The Opening Plenary Address will feature Dr. Betsy A. Zaborowski, Executive Director of the National Federation of the Blind Jernigan Institute. Dr. Zaborowski's presentation is titled, "Beyond Tagging: The Organized Blind, Your Best Ally in a Proactive Paradigm."

The conference's technical program covers a multitude of topics relevant to universal accessibility and assistive technologies and is structured around technical papers, poster sessions, demonstrations, panels, the doctoral consortium, and a host of social events.

ASSETS 2004 will be held at the Georgia Tech Global Learning Center at Technology Square, a state-of-the-art meeting and accommodation facility that combines all the amenities and modern technologies of tomorrow with a prime midtown Atlanta location. The hotel and conference center is fully accessible to all participants. For more information regarding the advance program or the meeting accommodations, please visit the conference web site (http://assets.acm.org/) or contact the ASSETS 2004 General Conference Chair, Julie Jacko ([log in to unmask]).
