Alibaba Group Natural HCI lab in Silicon Valley envisions enhancing the
human capability of interacting with a machine in natural ways through AI
and digitization of our senses. The research areas include Natural
Human-Computer Interaction, Multimodal Interaction, User Behavior Analysis,
and Affective Computing.

We are looking for motivated interns in Human-Computer Interaction and
Computer Vision areas who can contribute to ambitious and
multi-disciplinary projects with an emphasis on transforming the next
generation user experience, and empowering people with technology.

Human-Computer Interaction Intern

Job Type: Grad Intern

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Basic qualifications:

1.     Enrolled in or pursuing Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Human-Computer
Interaction, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field

2.     Excellent command of research questions within a given domain, and
of technical tools for the analysis of data within that field

3.     Experience in software development and coding in a general purpose
programming language

Preferred qualifications:

1.     Experience programming in two or more of the languages including but
not limited to: C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

2.     Experience working with some of the following: VR/AR applications,
haptics actuators, mobile application development, prototyping

3.     Publication in HCI and/or haptics related areas and contribution to
research communities



Computer Vision Intern/Contractor

Job Type: Contractor/Graduate Intern

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Basic qualifications:

1.     Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

2.     3+ years of computer vision engineering or research experience

3.     Familiar with C++ in computer vision, familiar with object
detection/tracking, object recognition

4.     Ability to implement computer vision functions using both OpenCV
tool and basic code

5.     Solid knowledge in algorithms, linear algebra, matrix or image
processing

Bonus to have:

1.     Experience of using a depth camera such as Intel RealSense

2.     Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and tools

3.     Experience of doing CNN training or using deep learning frameworks
such as Tensorflow and Keras is a plus

4.     Experience in CUDA programming is a plus
