Dear HCI Colleagues,

Are you an undergraduate or a graduate student with a research idea worth
showcasing at a prestigious international conference? Are you a supervisor
for undergrad or grad students? If you answered yes to either one of these
questions, we have good news for you!

CHI Student Research Competition (SRC) at the CHI 2012 conference in Austin
Texas (http://chi2012.acm.org/) is a forum for undergraduate and graduate
students to present their research, exchange ideas, and improve their
communication skills while competing for prizes up to US$500.

The submission package includes:

   - Non-anonymized, 6-page extended abstract
   - A poster
   - Proof of student status

A group of judges will review the submissions and provide feedback for the
students. A sub-set of students will be selected to present their work at
the conference (note: CHI will provide travel grants up to US$500). At the
conference, each student will give a poster presentation. Based on the
juried poster session, a group of students will advance to the final round
and give a short talk.

Important dates:

   - Submission deadline: January 9, 2012
   - Notification: February 10, 2012
   - Camera-ready deadline: February 17, 2012

To learn more about SRC and to check the submission requirements, please

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or need additional
